blog
it is always easy to get lost in the cycle of daily mundane routine. wake up, eat, work, eat, work, eat, sleep, wake up... it goes on and on, scarcely leaving any room for spontaneous intermissions.
but the fact remains that life does degenerate into mundane cycles once in a while. surprises are called surprises for a reason. a constant stream of surprises just fails to, erm, surprise anymore.
for the person-in-concern, aka me, it's all up to him to find a way to break this monotony or cope around with it. coping is not an option given that it is often too easy to degenerate along with the monotony and grow lazy (consequently become less alert to new challenges). breaking monotony, however, requires an expense of effort to overcome the high entropy environment of monotony.
that effort can only be sourced from motivation. there is not second way out of breaking the monotony if escaping from the environment is clearly not an option.
therefore, it is clear that motivation is critical for me now. 6 weeks into pro term and the monotony of everyday life is taking its toll on me. granted, every mission is unique. yet, the bigger scheme out there just seems to be the same everyday.
however, what are the sources of motivation? friday bookouts are becoming something regular and cease being incentives to complete the week. it is almost like having to find a carrot to dangle in front of myself in order to push myself to progress on. doing that, will truly take the fun out of life and quite possibly take motivation down along with it.
i need a new personal challenge.
