gift or curse?

there's a saying that one of the greatest gift on earth is the feeling soul, the ability to have emotions and feel. without it, we will be nothing more than mindless drones, going about our daily lives in a business-like manner without care and concern for anything else other than the primary objective of survival.

are emotions really that great a gift?

we feel sentimental about something that has passed. we get bogged down by love. we get emotional over something insignificant. all these without any seemingly tangible benefits.

why can't we just shed emotions and go about our daily lives objectively?

perhaps, maybe we aren't predisposed to do so. the feeling soul is what defines us as a human and as a person. without it, we are nothing more than zombies, nothing more than unfeeling machines that go about living our lives without giving more than two hoots about others.

sometimes, there's a price to pay. for something as complex as emotions, maybe the price isn't that great in perspective.

let's just say that this is a curse we have to live with, as long as we are humans.
