this and that

blog

the blog is undergoing renovation. seems like i haven't had the will to fill up the profile page yet although i am pretty sure it will be done soon. in any case, i decided to change and enlarge the font so as to make my various word walls more tolerable for reading. also, i have been experimenting with ways to optimise the loading of this blog so that it can load relatively fast on a slower connection. it looks like using the permalink each post to load blog content on-the-fly would be the most feasible. as this book i was reading said, if the additional feature does nothing to improve user experience, you are better off not adding it. a good thing to keep in mind while 'renovating' this blog.

and it's friday with only 3+ days of 2007 left! that means that i have less than 2 full weeks to enlistment. thus, the exercise regime must be kept going. maybe it's friday today (read: 2 days of rest on weekends) or maybe it's because of my atrocious timing yesterday or maybe it's a newfound source of mental strength, but in any case, i ran a new personal best timing. it's kinda comforting to know that improvement is slow but definitely steady. also, pull-ups have increased to max 7 reps and looks like i am on target to achieve 8 pull-ups by enlistment.

of course, all this must come at a price. fatigue, hunger (a burgeoning appetite), calluses on hands and abrasions on my heel due to me wearing ankle socks during exercising. nevertheless, it's much better, in my opinion, to suffer now than suffer in army.

and talking about army, it seems like i haven't packed anything yet. time to start packing and no procrastinate. this should be the last thing i procrastinate on.
