food ok, emcee sub-ok...
but anyway, the true fun was going around taking pictures. nothing will speak more loudly than the photos. so here's some last remnants of rj memories.

the "galpals" alliance on travian + taru who somehow managed to fit into the picture. shijie in the background is obscured by the addition of the words though (by sarge).

sarge and i (prolly the last time i see him not bald before he goes ns)

Got this rare photo with k-leong together with fellow rigeppers (clockwise from top left) ian wern, me, k-leong, chang qing, han, hong quan

this is one photo that might come back to haunt me in the future. nevertheless, the spontaneous and sporting shermon decides to go along with the 'act cute' huilin in this photo.

After grad nite, it does seem like everyone is going to pursue his/her own ways. On hindsight, after the post-prom euphoria dies down, the realisation of this fact just feels like being drenched in cold water.
The other time back at RI graduation dinner, the feeling is kinda different since almost all of us were going to RJ anyway. Now, it seems like everyone will really go different ways. The Singaporean guys will be going to NS, the girls will be going to unis all around the world, ditto for those non-Singaporean guys. A new phase of life beckons. What await us in this new life phase are probably new friends, new social webs, new relationships, new bonds, new happiness, new sadness etc etc.
Still, one has to learn to cherish past friends, even if past friends may not necessarily reciprocrate (although most people do). After all, being able to know each other and become friends is evidence of fate at work. That's why, I never forget those bonds forged in RI, RINPCC, RJC etc.
Maybe, after I ORD 2 years later, I should go globe-trotting visiting friends sprinkled over the world here and there (esp those going overseas to study). In any case, with the Internet making communication easier, there's really no excuse for not being able to keep in touch, save for the lack of will. In any case, be it rigep05 10th anniversary gathering, 4L gathering, 6H gathering, bring it on!
And lastly, this whole post really reminds me of this song.
Graduation (Friends Forever) by Vitamin C
And so we talked all night about the rest of our lives
Where we're gonna be when we turn 25
I keep thinking times will never change
Keep on thinking things will always be the same
But when we leave this year we won't be coming back
No more hanging out cause we're on a different track
And if you got something that you need to say
You better say it right now cause you don't have another day
Cause we're moving on and we can't slow down
These memories are playing like a film without sound
And I keep thinking of that night in June
I didn't know much of love
But it came too soon
And there was me and you
And then we got real blue
Stay at home talking on the telephone
We'd get so excited, we'd get so scared
Laughing at ourselves thinking life's not fair
And this is how it feels
[1] - As we go on
We remember
All the times we
Had together
And as our lives change
Come Whatever
We will still be
Friends Forever
So if we get the big jobs
And we make the big money
When we look back now
Will our jokes still be funny?
Will we still remember everything we learned in school?
Still be trying to break every single rule
Will little brainy Bobby be the stockbroker man?
Will Heather find a job that won't interfere with her tan?
I keep, I keep thinking that it's not goodbye
Keep on thinking it's a time to fly
And this is how it feels
[Repeat 1]La, la, la, la:
Yeah, yeah, yeah
La, la, la, la:
We will still be friends forever
Will we think about tomorrow like we think about now?
Can we survive it out there?
Can we make it somehow?
I guess I thought that this would never end
And suddenly it's like we're women and men
Will the past be a shadow that will follow us 'round?
Will these memories fade when I leave this town
I keep, I keep thinking that it's not goodbye
Keep on thinking it's a time to fly
[Repeat 1 (3x)]Still, there's no dinner without an end. Take care. At least, our paths intersected before. I can only be thankful for that.
