blog
the blur me thought that today was the 29th of feb until claire reminded me that this year has no 29th feb.
i must say feb 07 has been rather interesting. first cny. 2nd my bday. 3rd the rush, 4th the feeling of lagging behind.
feb is now gone. the resolutions? well perhaps the best thing is not be to doctrinistic (is there such a word)? a better way to say it is that it is better to just adjust accordingly to situations and contexts instead of pursuing a single set of doctrine single-mindedly.
stress has been a word that has been popping up regularly this month. civics stress measurements have shown that my stress levels lie above average, yet i do not feel stressed. but somehow on tuesday, i just snapped in chemistry tutorial and did something which i normally would not have done. maybe it was a consequence of the stress residing on my subconscious level instead of the conscious one.
and ihc had a decent ending. after countless nights of piahing, managed to pull off 2 out of 3 rounds of the finals properly with the buzzer round program refusing to work due to security settings but the improvisation by the others were good and the plan B did not look too slip-shod in my opinion. after interactions with those people at the top of the science clubs, i somehow get the feeling that i am interacting with others from a different pseudo-world. for some of them, science research are as staples like computer games are to me. the conversations always inevitably float to something scientific applied into a real life situation, not to mention names of high-fliers in the realm of maths and sciences in singapore.
i must say that interaction with such a group people, who are likely to be prominent components of the research industry in singapore in the future, has proven to be an experience of a different paradigm. it may not necessarily be a 'higher' level, but it is just so different from my normal day interactions. in the process, i always feel that either i am underachieving or they are overachieving. i just can't decide which is the correct one, but i guess maybe my interest does not lie in science after all. it certainly ain't so when i hate science researches.
the lesson learnt here? everyone has different and diverse interests. no point comparing. perhaps, i shall make that my pseudo-resolution in march.
on second thought, maybe not.
