blog
since freekick is taking like forever to simulate the weekend league matches, i decided that i have some time to crap something out and keep myself un-bored.
i think i have a bad sense of humour, or worse, none at all. i think i just can't help. it is the way i view things. i view things factually and what may appear funny to me does not appear funny to most other people. in fact, there are few people who can really appreciate the humour that i appreciate. stuffs like political satire, tech jokes... i only bother share them with people like hq cos they know what is so funny about it and do not really bother sharing it with others cos they will go like 'huh? what is so funny about this?'.
i do not enter battles i am not confident of winning. i do not mind being called a coward. i believe in being prepared, not being reckless. there is a thin line separating valour and recklessness. i would rather be on the safe side than destroy anything that i have carefully built up for a long time prior to the battle. then again, i do sometimes take calculated risks, but only after careful consideration. being incisive has never been one of my attributes. maybe it will be good to add it in sometime in the future. better sooner than later.
i was just having this interesting discussion with hq about overseas cip trips and how meaningful it is actually. it does seem that we agree on several points. first, is there a need to really go overseas and help others when there are other needy people waiting for you to help that in singapore? second, instead of spending that few hundred dollars on that round trip air tickets, might as well use the money to help other needy people locally. thirdly, cip should not be just for the short term, but for the long term. instead of just spending a few weeks going overseas to help the people there build houses or farm, why not engage in a long term project/programme that requires a long term committment and help to ensure the long term welfare of the people over there?
bleargh that's all i guess. anyway i respect sarge. he said, "with brains and the right tactics, you can win any dota game." he did just that today, in spite of having the teaming against him. for this, i respect him.
