sometimes, it is not people who dare not to dream, rather when they failed to achieve their dreams, they sort of have a psychological barrier within them. just like everytime when u whip a horse for jumping, the horse will not jump after a while for fear of being whipped. likewise, people, for fear of not being able to reach their dreams, will not bother to dream and think big anymore. instead, they turn towards the security blanket of pragmatism. i am afraid to say that i am one of those. i dare not dream, for fear of not reaching them. i dare not take risks, for fear of the downsides. maybe it is just time for me to dare to dream, to dare to take risks. maybe it is time for me to shed the thick blanket of pragmatism that i have wrapped myself in.
enough of reflection crap. today i just got myself into a catch-22 situation, but i would call it a dilemma instead. i had to choose between nus h3 econs and moe h3 chem. nus h3 econs was difficult to get in, yet i know that i can handle h3 chem better than h3 econs. however, if i rejected h3 econs for nus, i am depriving another person of the seat and make me look kiampa in applying for the seat in the first place. sigh. sometimes i just think too much, but isn't that the way i was brought up in? every subject i was schooled in required me to think wide and broad.
gar goei once categorised people into 2 categories, the broad thinkers and the deep thinkers. he said i was strictly under the broad thinkers. he said although broad thinkers can think and associate and process huge amounts of data in a very short time, they often do not go deep enough into the issue that is adequate for analysis of the situation. under deep thinkers, he put wenhao and muthu as examples. they do not think of a wide range of stuffs in a very short time, but they are able to dissect a problem so rigorously that there is virtually nothing for them to dissect after they finish their thoughts. now, come to think of it, he is right. damn! he has never been wrong about me.
anyway, onto more mundane stuffs. both vanessa and michelle noticed that i spelt vanessa's name with an extra 'n' in my previous post. however, to preserve the true quality and essence of my thoughts at the time of posting, i shall resist any modification to my previous post. instead, i shall just compensate with this, the next time i write vanessa's name, i shall not include the 'n' to make it even and fair. as such, i hope that both michelle and vaessa are happy with this win-win solution =)
stumbled upon huilin and peijie's combined blog with the help of a pony called google. and what a blasphemy huilin made of my fluke tic-tac-toe loss. that was a perfect example of making a mountain out of a molehill.
sleepy now. shall go sleep and decided not to do the stuffs that alchemy wants later today. lol. shall pia last minute again. so me.
