Praise? or just plain sarcasm?

I watched the movie "I not stupid too" on Friday. Must say that the movie tried to convey a lot of messages and I spotted most, if not all, of them. However, there's still a disjoint feeling between plot lines and somehow the movie felt melodramatic at times. On the overall though, great movie.

Anyway, the point that stuck to me most was the point, "When was the last time you praised someone?" I was somehow stumped when asked with this point. Indeed, it has become a point for other and I to ignore frequently. We hardly praise others because we can find faults in others faster and more readily than finding their positives. Is it because of the evolution of society as a whole to become more critical of each other? Sometimes, we need just that bit of encouragement or praise when the times are bad to push ourselves forward, but how often do we receive such stuffs?

Besides, people in society tend to be quite deceitful sometimes. Some people warp praises into sarcasm unto others. As such, sometimes, people find themselves in awkward situations when they find it hard to decide whether it is a sincere praise or just an insult masked with a praise.

Sincerely praising someone takes so little effort yet it is almost as difficult as scaling a mountain. Shouldn't we start sincerely praising others rightfully for their efforts?
