This week was really hectic and just passed without much notice. But ain't all weeks like that too?
Got to know my class better this week. Although there were some OG vs class debates on my OG's egrps, but for me, class is class, og is og, nothing can replace either. OG are the ppl u knew on ur first day in sch. Class are the people you are going to spend 2 years with. That's the diff. anyway, my og is meeting (well, most of the og) every morning at our new location and usually it starts with some homework and then descends into gossip and talking and conversations. lets hope that this continues for the long term. seems like my optimism is correct after all.
Heard on Tues that cybergaming may be merging with comp sci to form infocomm club -_-' dunno wats wrong wif ida. why cant they just like keep the name computer sci? anyway, the cybergaming told me that they did not have fifa 06 installed yet and thus prob nxt tues then have tryouts.
attended geog soc meeting ytd. played some orientation games and took 1 pic which might have another scandal but it's still in my hp and i have to find ways to upload it. one surprising thing is that kleong did not turn up. i hope that he is not in, not tt he is so busy he cant attend.
tues pe lesson told me how unfit i was and thus decided to start exercising. currently running 2.4 like 3 times per week and skipping everyday. hope that it helps for my napfa else i m terribly screwed.
On the other hand, I heard 3 interesting stories on the radio recently and they certainly gave me food for thought.
Story 1: The author was in this taxi one day. Everytime they approached a traffic junction, the traffic light will surely change to red when the taxi is about to pass that junction and that occurred numerous times. The author was frustrated and complained to the taxi driver. The driver replied, "This is not necessarily a bad thing. At least, when it turns green, we are the first car off."
Story 2: When they wanted to build the Shinkansen in Japan some decades back, the track had to cut through several farms and the farmers firmly opposed the construction of the Shinkansen. However, one official asked, "Are your crops growing well?" The farmers lamented that birds were destroying their crops. The official said, "Well, after the line is constructed, there will be trains passing through frequently. The birds will then be scared off and thus protect your crops. So why oppose the construction?" Indeed, after the line was built, the birds' problem was solved.
Story 3: This couple arrived hastily at the train station. However, to their dismay, the train has already departed. The husband scolded the wife, "If not because of your slow actions, we would have caught the train." The wife replied,"If not because of your haste to catch the train, we could have taken our time to arrive here and board the next train instead of waiting for such a long time for the next train."
First 2 stories' purpose is to tell others to look at things from another side. Story 3, however, tells us that sometimes in life, rushing is not necessarily good and take sometime to appreciate what's around you instead.
