Been feeling really really wuliao for the past wk.
Tried to study, but with no booklist for next yr, it is a bit hard to predict which txtbks to study. Went to tampines library to borrow some books on econs and still reading it. i am beginning to understand some of the fundamental concepts, but i still need to continue reading.
have also been owned in programming training. the dp recurrence is just bloody difficult to spot and my algos usually go TLE (time limit exceeded) cos my algo just too brute force.
then, tech symposium preparation hit a hiccup when my mails to paul lim and ah huat did not receive any replies in spite of both mails sent like 5 days ago. i believe the prob is tt both of them are thinking 'the other guy will handle it'. Paul lim asked his sec 2s to find ah huat abt resources to do the poster while ah huat is like just, plain lazy. shuld hav foreseen this problem earlier, but then sometimes these 'should haves' just never appeared to me at that point in time.
went back to sch to collect pdr yesterday. actually, it is suppoed to be collected at 11. then, nat and i met in sch at 8.45 so tt we can go down to sim lim to buy a cable. however, that did not materialise and we spent like 2hrs+ in the lib reviewing our tech symposium ppt and sleeping. after collecting the pdr, nat, hq and i went to kfc for lunch b4 going to hq's house to flim something. as the econs bk said 'resources are scarce and hence resources have a price to them', hq allowed us to go to his house to film for our tech symposium video montage on the condition that we help him fix a screwy router problem. the shooting was fine and went without much problems. then, we began to probe the router and see what's wrong with it. we narrowed it down to a faulty router firmware javascript problem. i tried to do many things, including pulling out the power supply frm the router and disconnecting the router from the internet numerous times. each attempt, however, just sprouted new problems and it was only with help of hq and nat tt these new problems got nipped in the bud. then, at my wits end, i decided to employ the help of the mighty google. within minutes, everything was fine and hq could finally play dota again.
went thru my class photos today. there were photos back from my kindergarten days. it is hard to imagine the little boys and girls there all 16 now and having lost total contact with them, i can't help but just wonder what are their fates now. then, looking at my p6 class photo, i just rmbred that our last gathering was back in 2002. altho i m still in contact with most of them, with 3 of them alredi confirmed overseas, it is very very difficult to have a class gathering with every1 present. the conflicting schedules just prove to be too big an obstacle. i supposed that is what happens after we all trod on different paths. although some of them might be in rj nxt yr, but then that p6 class bonding and feeling is just like no more there. then, it brought me to the 4 class photos i have taken in ri. it is just difficult to picture how every1 will change after like 10, 20 years?
i suppose that school life is just like a typical day. when morning is around, there is uncertainty, where it is midday, every1 is just like busy with their own work. when it is time to part, it is just like sunset. that particular moment is just so precious and beautiful. we desire it to last longer or even forever, but the sunset just has to be so short-lived and end before we know it. the everyday morning event of walking into the 4L classroom and finding ppl sleeping/talking/rushing homework just seemed so mundane even 1 mth ago, but then now then i regretted not treasuring those moments.
it is just difficult to cross roads again in life. i believe that in the future world, with 6 billion ppl, there are infinite number of possibilities of ppl that you will meet and interact with. however, if 2 ppl do meet again, the least that both can do is to acknowledge each other and not just pass each other like strangers. just like my grandmother and aunt telling me that they met my k2 chinese teacher (that was the time when i hated chinese and every1 connected to it, incl. teachers) and she asked how wuz it doing. it is comforting to know that at least some1 whom i hav not interacted with for 10 years at least still rmbrs me from 10 years ago.
the paths of 2 person cross perhaps only once in a lifetime while most do not cross paths with most others in their whole life. however, as long as you crossed your paths with me again, all you can do is to acknowledge me in that meeting that has a chance of 1/6,000,000,000! of occuring.
